Hey there, l am D_ Richell ( Donita Conner Bessard ). I am a native of Houston, Texas. I was born and raised on the south side of the city. My journey to being a “hair stylist” began by me doing my own hair after my mom was in a horrible car accident. My dad attempted, and let’s just say , despite his sincere efforts, it was not a “good look”. I continued by doing a lot of my friend’s hair at home while in high school. So, I eventually learned that this was my gift, and it would make room for me.

 

After graduating from “Willowridge High School” , I started my college journey at “Southern University”, pursuing a degree in Business, and then later transferring to “Clark Atlanta University” during my junior year. I later graduated from “Clark” with my Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, concentrating in Management. All the while pursuing my education, I definitely knew without a doubt, that doing hair was my first love!

 

So after graduation, I remained in Atlanta (a city thriving in the hair industry) completing cosmetology studies. I worked in the Atlanta hair industry for 3 years before returning home to build my own business. As stated above, I was already a young, unofficial entrepreneur, but have officially been in business for the last 27 years. Yes, “Mass Appeal by Episodes” was birthed in 2002 and is still (by the Grace of God) vibe’n and thriving strong, and now with the addition of a great group of stylists with various expertise.

 

The salon is a comfortable, intimate, but family oriented space with a lot of positive energy that makes for a great place to work as it relates to us as stylist, but also a warm atmosphere to unwind, relax and/or reset for all those who are serviced. Many clients have found this to be a great place for networking, laughs , and most importantly, sometimes well needed “love”. Mass Appeal insures great styling with a healthy approach for your hair and your inner persona. We care about your hair, but even more importantly, the person wearing it!! Mass Appeal is evolving everyday to meet the needs of the clients we serve.
